Our website recently experienced a security attack that resulted in 'phishing emails' being sent out to our clients. Please DO NOT RESPOND to emails asking for credit card information. These emails are not from our company; they are from a hacker trying to compromise your credit card data. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are working diligently to remedy this matter. SECURITY NOTICE... The following message was emailed to our online customer list: AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM FIAMMA COFFEE CONNECTION TO OUR CLIENTS... Our website recently experienced a security attack that resulted in 'phishing emails' being sent out to our clients. If you received an email requesting credit card data, please DO NOT RESPOND! These emails are not from our company; they are from a hacker trying to compromise your credit card data. WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR... We are currently investigating the full details of this attack. What we know so far is that a foreign file was maliciously placed on our server at 4:15 AM, June 10, 2012. This file caused our server to generate phishing emails that were sent to members of our client list. The phishing emails request the last four numbers of the your credit card and your CVV code. ABOUT THE INTERNET ATTACK... Many of you who received the phishing email may have noted that the email requested you to send your credit card information to an unknown and seemingly unrelated email address. It appears that the person responsible for this Internet attack may be located in Tunisia, using an email account based in France. This abuse has been report to the proper ISP for investigation. WHAT'S NEXT... We have already taken steps to protect our customers from future inconvenience. Prior to this incident, we have initiated steps to incorporate PayPal secure order processing into our company procedures. We will continue to monitor this situation and enforce additional security measures to minimize any inconvenience to our customers. Additionally, we will address security threats aggressively, always looking out for the best interest of our customers. WHAT YOU CAN DO... As with any matter related to financial transactions, you are eagerly encouraged to monitor your credit card statements to ensure that your account has not been compromise. If at any time you believe your information is at risk, please contact your credit card company and provide them with the details of this incident so that corrective measure can be taken immediately. IN CLOSING... We sincerely value you as a customer. Please remember that we will never ask for your credit card information via email. We apologize for any inconvenience. SECURITY NOTICE UPDATE... The following update was emailed to our online customer list: UPDATE... The investigation into the attack on our website continues. We have also learned that some customers replied to the bogus email generated by the hacker and provided critical customer data. IF YOU REPLIED TO THE BOGUS EMAIL... You should contact your credit card company immediately and provide them with the details of this incident so that corrective measures can be initiated. LOOKING DEEPER INTO THE ATTACK... A more comprehensive review shows that some critical customer data, not previously believed to have been compromised, may have briefly been at risk. We do not believe this concern is widespread, but we must err on the side of caution and remind all customers to closely monitor their credit card statements. Anyone who believes their information is at risk is encouraged to contact their credit card company and provide them with the details of this incident. A SECURE RESOLUTION IS IN SIGHT... As mentioned in our previous announcement, we are incorporating PayPal into our online ordering process.
